Bahamas- Nassau

Apparently, September is part of the rainy season for the islands. We didn't do enough research on the weather conditions for this time of year before we booked our trip, but lucky for us we like the rain.  Our first port was to Nassau. We got to the island early, around 7 am. We casually got ready, ate breakfast (room service is wonderful!), and started the long process of getting off the boat!

Although it rained most of the day we still saw so many great landmarks on the island!  When we were walking to the island, there were native islanders on the dock waiting for all the tourists haha!  They were offering a guided tour of the island, showing off all the places we wouldnt have gotten to see otherwise!  This tour was offered through Carnival but it was not in our budget. Honestly, it didnt seem like a good deal at all anyway.  We ended up getting the exact same tour (which ended up being way longer) for less than half the price of the Carnival advertised tour!  Score!

Bahamas Cruise

We just got back from our very first cruise just a few short weeks ago and can I just say, I am so ready to go on another!!  I was VERY skeptical and really quite nervous to go. I am not a big fan of the ocean, and when I say not a big fan, I mean I avoid going in any deeper than my calves. Ya, i'm one of THOSE people. Anyway, it actually ended up not being that serious.  I did get a little motion sickness but it was minor compared to what we got to experience.

Confession, we splurged a little bit on our room.  Since this was our first cruise, we didn't really know how we were going to feel being out in the ocean for so long or if we would get sick, so we decided to get a room with a balcony. It was AMAZING! We spent so much time out there and had tremendous views that we would not have been able to see otherwise.

Sky is eating alligator! ick!

Color Me Rad

Over the weekend we attended a super fun event, Color Me Rad! It was our first 5k together and we had so much fun!! It was unbelievable how many people and how messy it was! You first start off wearing all white and throughout the race you get covered in colored corn starch and sometimes dyed water. SO.MUCH.FUN!!

About Us

Hi! I'm so glad you are here!  Welcome to my little piece of the internet, I would love if you stayed awhile!
My name is Kara, writer of this little slice of heaven.  Sometimes I make things, sometimes I cook yummy food.  Mostly I love my husband and our pup, Emmett. I am a full time student which takes up most of my time but when I have some down time I LOVE to read. We live in the south where its scorching year round and the bugs are super sized.  We dream of moving to the west coast and buying an old house with lots of land where our children can run around.

This is my handsome husband, Skyler.  He is an Airman in the USAF and also a part time pharmacy student. He has big dreams for our family. Strong, hilariously funny, and a big smarty pant.  He is my rock, my protector, and my very best friend.

And this is our boy, Emmett.  Adopted when he was 2 months old he adds such joy to our lives. Big personality, fierce protector, and gives the best snuggles.  Loves car rides, pigs ears, and belly scratchins.
